Technical diving course Tec 40 designed by DSAT on behalf of PADI is equivalent of advanced nitrox course. The main goal of the course is to teach diving in tech gear and fundamentals of safe decompression. If you previously experienced being close to NDL (no decompression limit) or you have even exceed it, this course give you basics how to dive safer in the future when being over timed. Tec40 give background for continuation in Tec45 course.

Prerequisites:

  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent
  • PADI EANx diver or equivalent
  • PADI DEEP specialty or at least 10 dives for 30m logged
  • At least 30 logged dives, including 10 with enriched air and7 not shallower than 30m
  • DAN insurance or another technical diving covering policy
  • Medical statement approved by physician

Minimum age: 18 years
Course structure:Three knowledge development sessions, three practical application, exam, four dives up to max 40 meters with air and side gas enriched air up to 50% of oxygen
Duration 3 days
Course post qualifications:Use decompression software and dive computers to plan and make decompression dives with not more than 10 minutes of total decompression and not deeper than 40 meters. Use a single cylinder of decompression gas with up to 50% of oxygen (EANx 50) to add conservatism to required decompression

Example itinerary of Tec 40:

Day 1 -classes, pool or confined water session

Day 2 - two training dives

Day 3 - one training dive + one more extra dive to ground self confidence with new competences
