Piotr (Peter) Paulo. With his first descend he realized that diving will be his life passion . Despite a tough beginning, he dreamed about changing his life in such way to be able to dedicate his life for diving, which has led him to an extensive training process . According to the rule “find a job you love, it will add 5 extra days to each week of your life” Peter along with his wife Margaret decided to abandon their office-related careers and move to the Tropics, somewhere where it is possible to work through diving on outstanding coral reefs, underwater rocky landscapes, wrecks, caves and with splendid animals. Then they ordered a cargo container and filled it with piles of books, photos and family keepsakes, a 100-years-old card table, some clothes, two bicycles, beloved mug and of course, diving equipment. Listed above was way too important to be left aside. Peter’s water sports experience has its roots in his childhood. Starting with simple curiosity and fun, he then became a kayaking guide and sailing instructor in college. Then in 2005 he succeeded on PADI Instructor Exam in Poland. He quickly gained experience, working as a full-time diving instructor since then. Before arriving on Phuket, Thailand, Peter became an experienced instructor, thanks to hard training led by Witek Smilowski and Maciek Curzydlo in Poland. Then Bent Posejpal helped him to finish his development as diving instructor in Phuket. Since then, Peter has certified hundreds of students on all the levels of recreational diving. He gained experience by cooperating with dive centres in Poland, Egypt, Koh Samui, Sipadan, Philippines, Bali and Phuket, and finally, by starting an own dive centre and shop - Asiandivers. In early 2009 he became approved for PADI Course Director Training in Malaysia and after completing it he has been rewarded this prestigious title and rights to teach PADI Instructors. Doing so, he cooperates with Seafun Divers Instructor Career Development Center in Phuket. Peter is also a technical diver since 2004. In 2005 he attended a technical deep and trimix instructor development course in Croatia. In 2006 he became SCR rebreather instructor, and since 2009 also dive using CCR rebreathers. In 2010 he gained technical Tec Rec Instructor Trainer level in PADI/DSAT. Peter has done 500 tech dives including 200 wreck dives, 100 cavern and cave dives. He teaches his student and instructor courses in English, Russian and Polish. Before this career in diving, Peter worked as a Project Manager in IT and Quality Assurance. He has an extensive experience in training and management not only in diving industry. In 2004 He graduated as MBA in the Oxford School of Business. Peter is also a proud father of three boy sons: adults Lucas and Michal, and Julian, born in 2007 in Thailand. In his so-called free time, Peter loves to travel and discover places located at the edge of the known world, especially mountain or jungle areas, which are mostly non-tourist, hard to find and preferably primitive. He likes to tramp with his backpack and trek solo the endless Asia, and also guide diving trips in S-E Asia. All the trips he somehow connects with diving, which always remain his biggest passion. |
